Howard S Katz Died on 23rd December 2010

Long time contributor to the Market Oracle site, Howard S Katz passed away on 23rd December 2010 at age 72. Howard has been writing financial newsletters since the 1960's and authored three books : The Paper Aristocracy (1976), The Warmongers (1979) and Honest Money – Now! (1979).


Howard will be greatly missed by the Market Oracle team and readership.

According to an obituary in New Hampshire’s daily newspaper, Nashua Telegraph - Howard S. Katz, 72, of Milford, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, in St. Joseph Milford Medical Center. He was born in Providence, RI, a son of the late Joseph and Ruth (Pansy) Katz, and had lived in New Hampshire for 10 years. Howard was a financial analyst and editor-in-chief of The One-Handed Economist and the former Gold Bug Newsletters. Dear brother of Joyce Nelson and her late husband, William of Lexington, MA. A funeral service was held Sunday in Rhode Island. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to your favorite charity.

Howard will be deeply missed by all serious gold investors. His unique insight, huge experience and no-nonsense attitude marked him out as someone truly special.

In Memoriam

I met Howard Katz shortly after I moved into Milford,N.H.

We chatted about the markets and he gave me a copy of his newsletter. He had a unique perspective on markets and I enjoyed his charting analysis. Thanks Howard for sharing your ideas through the years.
